21st Annual Billikens Great Baby Race

Royal Banks of Missouri proudly presented the 21st annual Great Baby Race during the Saint Louis University Billikens men’s basketball game vs. Richmond at Chaifetz Arena on Saturday, January 17, 2026.

The promotion, which debuted in 2005, features the youngest Billikens fans crawling across the court to see which babies have the need for speed.

Prior to tip-off, Royal Banks of Missouri President & CEO Mitch Baden was interviewed by the Voice of the Billikens and Voice of Royal Banks of Missouri, Bob Ramsey, on KMOX Radio. Mitch also accepted the game ball from Saint Louis University Athletic Director Chris May during the pregame ceremonies, as recognition of Royal Banks of Missouri’s decades-long support of the Billikens athletic program.

Held during halftime, this year’s Great Baby Race featured a record 40 families vying for the title of Fastest Crawler in the St. Louis area. Saint Louis University students also put their speed to the test in the second-ever “Big Baby Race”, which took place in a media timeout during the first half of the game.

Royal Banks of Missouri is also the longtime sponsor of the Shots for Cash promotion held at all Billikens men’s and women’s basketball games. In the challenge, contestants must make a layup, a free throw, and a three-point shot to win a prize. Each unsuccessful attempt adds $100.00 to the pot for the next participant to be eligible to win.

The family of the Great Baby Race winner and the top three contestants in the Big Baby Race, as well as the winner of the game’s Royal Banks of Missouri Shots for Cash promotion, went home with Royal Banks of Missouri gift cards.
